WHO’S IN CONTROL?
- The Sovereignty of God
One of the most amazing truths in all of Scripture is
something totally unique to Christianity, something that no other religion has
ever taught or even tried to articulate. It is so powerful that if you really
believe it, it will give you hope in difficulty, thankfulness in prosperity,
and grace in suffering.
The Bible teaches that God makes all things work out for the good of his people and for
his own glory. It teaches that Jesus is reigning right now and that this suffering Savior is the ruling Lord of
the universe. While evil appears to be winning and human suffering seems to
leach all the joy and hope out of life, the picture we see in Scripture is of a
God who is both powerful enough and loving enough to limit evil, a God who put
boundaries around suffering, and a God who takes all the bad things in the
world and actually uses them in the lives of his people to accomplish his
purpose of making all things in this world brand new.
This wonderful truth is known as the Sovereignty of God. So this week, join us in the mountains as we look
at the many facets of God's loving, powerful control over all things. If you
can get your head around this, it will essentially give you a whole new way to
see the world—in short—a new life! Now, that would be a week well spent!
