RYM Northeast
Dear
Friends,
Many of you
may be unfamiliar with the ministry of RYM. Please browse our website to find
out more about us. Our mission is to serve the church in reaching junior high
and high school students for Christ and equipping them to serve Him in the
church and in the world. We achieve our mission, with God’s grace, by providing
conferences, training, and resources for the church. We believe that ministry
to youth and their families in the context of the local church is vital, and we
want to do all we can to serve YOU as you carry out your significant ministry.
Currently
we have student conferences in the southeast, west and northwest. And now we
are laying the groundwork for a RYM conference in the Northeast! Our goal is to
plant a new conference in the summer of 2011 in the Northeast (the
Pennsylvania/Maryland area) that would be accessible to churches in the
Northeast, particularly the following areas:
Eastern North Carolina, Virginia,
Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware,
New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine,
and Eastern Canada.
However,
our conferences are a grass roots endeavor. We will not move forward with a new
conference until we see a groundswell of churches in the region that are
interested in being a part of RYM. We are committed to providing conferences
that are Word-driven, God-centered, and gospel-focused; that take place in the
context of God’s beautiful creation; that provide church youth groups the
opportunity to both spend time with one another and meet and worship with other
churches in the region; that are committed to teaching the bible in a faithful,
substantial, and relevant way to teen-agers and youth leaders alike; in which
unbeliever and believer alike are invited, welcomed, and treated with honesty
and respect; and where everyone has FUN!
Here is
what the Reverend Joe Novenson, pastor of Lookout Presbyterian Church (PCA) had
to say about RYM:
“May I
encourage you to attend RYM Conferences this summer if you are of middle or
high school age or consider sending the students of that age that you know. And
may I encourage you in the strongest possible terms? Having recently
participated in this astounding ministry, I can only say that I have rarely, if
ever, seen such vital ardor of delight in the Savior wed to such
profound order of Biblical truth being taught in one gathering of
students, servant leaders and staff. The worship was robustly God centered
in form and content without being ornate and austere. The electives
offered were expansive in their sweep across the Christian world and life view
so that repetition or superficiality of training is avoided. The pace
and rhythm of the activities was leisurely with out being aimless. The
gatherings were marked by the laughter of the Kingdom and pleasure of God's
people without being vain or shallow. Frankly, the balances of
blessedness marked the entire week. I am very honored to have been near the men
and women who serve the Savior in and through this astonishing work of God. I
have measured my words carefully. I hope you will consider making Reformed
Youth Ministries a part of student ministry every summer.”
