"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Beliefs

The following core beliefs of Reformed Youth Ministries are based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternal  God who exists in three persons : God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible. He is  worthy of all glory and praise.  God is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His wisdom, being, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us generally in the creation itself, specially in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, and in human form through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God.

Scripture

The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile God's elect children with their Father through his perfect life, sacrificial and substitutionary death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead. In so doing, Jesus inaugurated the Kingdom of God on earth, and moves that Kingdom forward by the ordinary work of Holy Spirit in the life of His Church.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone to the Glory of God alone. In God's gracious work of salvation, the undeserving sinner is pardoned of all his sins and clothed with the righteousness of God.

Assurance

Once someone has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, he will repent and believe in Christ as Savior, and will be kept to the end by God through the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Church

The Church is the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Commission

God has commissioned the Church in all ages to go forth into the world proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples of all nations.

Covenant

God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.

Vocation/Calling

God has called His people to subdue the earth, love others as oneself, and live all of life to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth, at which time all will be resurrected from the dead - some to eternal life and some to eternal punishment.
